Focus on Operation

Operation on the Gorre &

Daphetid RR has received

limited coverage in the

magazines and on the Internet

because, as Linn Westcott noted

in his book, "operation…is a

difficult topic to explain with

words and pictures."

This website attempts to

address this deficiency by using

photographs of the Gorre & Daphetid, courtesy of Keith Beard and others,

to develop TrainPlayer track plans.

You, as a railroad engineer, may put the Gorre & Daphetid RR into motion

by using a tab-on-car system to move rolling stock between cities, towns

and villages, or smiles (scale miles) and a fast clock to schedule trains.

Two track plans are included on this website.

The first is the actual (incomplete) track plan showing the Gorre &

Daphetid RR as it existed at the time of John Allen’s death.

The second is a track plan completed as John Allen envisage. Specifically,

the Devil's Gulch & Helengon narrow gauge line is complete through

Helengon Gap and the Great Devil’s Gulch Bridge on the Summit Subdivision

of the Gorre & Daphetid RR is in place.
