Loop Subdivide Modeling

The Loop Subdivide Method of modeling relies initially on the Loop Cut and Slide

Tool to mark features of the model within a mesh that is large enough to encompass

most, if not all, of the model. Additional cut are made using the Connect Vertices

Path (J-KEY) rather than Connect Vertices (F-KEY) so that edges crossed are

bisected. Then, parts of the mesh which will not part of the finished model are

deleted, much like a sculptor would remove pieces of clay from a starting block of

clay to reveal the form of the model within. Details are then added to finish the

model.

The method can create unnecessary faces, which are removed at the end of

modeling by dissolving faces that are in one plane and then dissolving any

unnecessary vertices create in the process.
